Devin Booker Says Kawhi Leonard Is The Toughest Defender In The NBA

Ever since he made it to the league, Devin Booker has been one of the most entertaining players to watch. He hasn’t won many games, but that’s not on him, as he’s always brought his A-Game as one of the finest scorers in the world.

The Phoenix Suns have failed to surround Booker with the kind of talent he needs to thrive, but the 23-year old has already made a name for himself as a prolific, efficient scorer.

However, even the biggest offensive juggernauts of the league have a tough time matching up vs. Kawhi Leonard, almost unanimously considered the best defender in the world.

As a matter of fact, Booker himself admitted that Leonard is the toughest defenders in the league because of all the tools he has to guard him:

“In terms of overall defenses, I think some teams have better gameplans for me than others, Denver being one of those. I struggled in all my Denver games this year. Obviously, playing against Kawhi for five years now, he’s physically gifted and dominant on both sides of the ball, so he’s a tough matchup,” Booker told Liam McKeone of The Big Lead.

It’s pretty safe to say that there’s no way to actually stop Booker, who’s averaged 26.1 points, 4.2 rebounds. and 6.6 assists per game on 48/36/90 shooting splits and a true shooting percentage of 61.7% this season.

Booker can do it all in the offensive end. Drive, pull-up from all three levels, catch-and-shoot, cut, and even create for others with his playmaking ability. Also, he’s got one of the smoothest shots in the league and would be perfectly suited for a Championship-caliber team.

So, that says a lot about just how good and dominant Kawhi Leonard is on the defensive end of the floor. Even those who can always get their rhythm going struggle vs. him.
