The Los Angeles Lakers managed to defeat the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs, with the series ending 4-2 in the Lakers’ favor. One of the notable storylines during the series was the back-and-forth between Dillon Brooks and LeBron James, and the two notably traded jabs in the media.

Dillon Brooks was the person that initially started things, notably calling LeBron James old in the media and saying he wouldn’t respect him until James scored 40 points on him. When speaking to the media recently, Dillon Brooks claimed that he has no regrets about his words, stating that he would continue to be himself.

“I’ll continue to be me and get better at what I do,” said Brooks.

Dillon Brooks on Game 2 comments and what it led to.

He doesn’t regret it, (he wasasked about that). “I’m a competitor, and I compete”

Thinks LeBron being back in the playoffs juiced him up more than the comments

There’s no doubt that Dillon Brooks is confident enough to stand by his words, and confidence is everything for a player. Though he had a tough series against the Los Angeles Lakers, it is clear that he is not letting that phase him.

In the playoffs, Dillon Brooks averaged 10.5 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 1.8 APG while shooting 31.2% from the field and 23.8% from 3PT range. It is clear that he needs to improve offensively for the Grizzlies to get far in the playoffs, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.

LeBron James Called Out The Grizzlies After The Lakers Defeated Them

LeBron James was a key reason that the Grizzlies ended up losing the series, and he ended up sending some trash talk their way after they got eliminated. He shared an Instagram post with a caption that was clearly targeted at the team.

“If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly bear, HELP THE BEAR,” James wrote in an Instagram post.

It is clear that this series was a big one for LeBron James, and he clearly didn’t have a ton of respect for the Grizzlies due to their attitude. In fact, he even refused to shake hands with them at the conclusion of Game 6, going straight to the locker room instead.

It will be interesting to see how the Memphis Grizzlies respond to this devastating series loss. Sometimes you need to lose before you get better, and hopefully, that is the case here.
