In a recent discussion on Bill Simmons’ podcast, NBA media figures Doc Rivers and Bill Simmons marveled at LeBron James’ remarkable longevity and high-level performance at the age of 38. Both acknowledged that James has defied expectations and is maintaining a level of play that is uncommon for someone of his age, showcasing a commitment to his physical well-being.

“As LeBron told me, other than wine, I put nothing bad in my body. He says he carries bags around of different foods and he said it’s down to timing.”

“There’s certain times that he has to eat, there’s certain times that he can’t eat. It’s just incredible to watch.” (10:50)

Rivers shared insights from a conversation he had with LeBron James, emphasizing the meticulous care James takes with his nutrition. According to Rivers, LeBron mentioned that, aside from wine, he puts nothing detrimental in his body.

The Lakers star reportedly carries bags of different foods and follows a strict dietary regimen, emphasizing the importance of timing when it comes to eating. LeBron’s dedication to maintaining peak physical condition and adhering to a disciplined nutrition plan has become a crucial aspect of his sustained success.

As LeBron James approaches his 39th birthday, he continues to defy conventional expectations for athletes in their late 30s. Not only is he maintaining his scoring prowess, but he’s also contributing significantly in rebounds and assists, showcasing a well-rounded game.

Recently becoming the all-time leader in total minutes played and achieving the milestone of becoming the NBA All-Time Leading Scorer, LeBron’s commitment to his body and health remains a key factor in his ongoing success on the basketball court.

LeBron James And Lakers Off To A Loss After Winning The NBA Cup

In their first game since winning the inaugural In-Season Tournament and securing the NBA Cup, the Los Angeles Lakers faced a tough challenge against the Dallas Mavericks but ultimately fell short, losing 127-125. Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with an impressive performance, recording 33 points and 17 assists, showcasing his playmaking abilities.

Despite the loss, Anthony Davis had a strong outing for the Lakers, finishing with 37 points and 11 rebounds. LeBron James also contributed significantly with 33 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. The Lakers, however, saw their four-game winning streak come to an end as they were unable to overcome the dynamic duo of Doncic and Tim Hardaway Jr.

Hardaway stepped up in the absence of Kyrie Irving, who was sidelined due to a bruised foot, scoring a season-high 32 points. Dante Exum added a season-high 26 points for the Mavericks, contributing seven 3-pointers, which played a crucial role in securing the victory.

The Lakers, who had a two-day break following their NBA Cup-clinching victory over the Indiana Pacers in Las Vegas, faced a determined Mavericks team that capitalized on their depth and resilience. Despite the absence of several key players for Dallas, including Irving and Derrick Jones Jr., they managed to secure the win.

As the Lakers navigate through the regular season, they will aim to maintain their momentum and build upon the success of the In-Season Tournament, recognizing the competitive challenges they face in the ever-competitive Western Conference.
