Drake hopped on to TSN’s broadcast of the In-Season Tournament game between the Toronto Raptors and the Boston Celtics on Friday night and proceeded to wildly roast Payton Pritchard.

“I feel like I’m in a time-lapse right now,” Drake said. “First of all, this guy’s not Nick Nurse. I haven’t been here in a while, I’ll tell you that. I don’t know where we’re at. The court is a completely different color. Payton Pritchard’s out there looking like a crypto scammer. This is crazy. What’s going on, boys?”

That comment came out of nowhere and left the announcers in stitches. It was all just in good fun, though, and I doubt Pritchard would have much of an issue with it. He was actually the one who ended up having the last laugh, as the Celtics beat the Raptors 108-105 to drop them to 5-7.

Boston had seven players score in double digits, although Pritchard wasn’t one of them. The 25-year-old, who signed a four-year, $30 million extension in the summer, ended the night with 5 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal, as the Celtics improved to 2-0 in the tournament.

NBA Fans Reacted To Drake’s Wild Comment

It doesn’t take a whole lot for Drake to go viral and when the comment was as wild as this one, it inevitably was going to catch fire. NBA fans hilariously reacted to the viral comments.

A fan hilariously stated that the executives wanted the mic taken away immediately,  “You know they wanted to take bro’s mic away instantly.”

One joked that Pritchard not even being on the court when this happened, “Bro wasn’t even on the court and caught a stray.”

Drake made the viewing experience more fun, a fan stated, “He definitely made it more entertaining.”

One fan thinks Drake drank a bit too much, “Bro was feeling the tequila.”

A fan wants Drake to become a commentator, “Drake needs to be a commentator.”

One fan was dying laughing when he heard it, “I heard that watching the game I was dying.”

Drake should probably drop by for some commentary, as he’d be a big hit with the audience. He has a lot on his plate, though, and just put out ‘Scary Hours 3’ recently.

The Celtics Look Like The Class Of The East

The Celtics made some huge moves this offseason and so far, things are panning out. This win over the Raptors improved them to 10-2 on the season and they now have the best record in the NBA. They look like a complete outfit at the moment and are the only team in the top 5 for both offensive and defensive ratings.

I had the Milwaukee Bucks as my favorites to win the East following the Damian Lillard trade, but it does seem like the Celtics have edged ahead of them by acquiring Jrue Holiday. With Holiday and Derrick White, they have the best defensive backcourt in the NBA, and combine it with the firepower of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kristaps Porzingis, and you get probably the best starting five in the league.

Joel Embiid declared that the Celtics are the best team in the NBA and they are playing like it for now. Their bench is certainly on the weaker side, though, and I’d like to see them be active in the buyout market to get a couple of veterans in the second half of the season.
