With the Warriors trailing 58-63 and Stephen Curry attempting to drive to the basket, Green’s blatant and moving screen on James created an opening for Curry to score, ultimately influencing the outcome of the game.

The video footage of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms, with fans expressing outrage over Green’s aggressive play and questioning the legitimacy of his actions. Many fans have taken to platforms like X to voice their opinions, condemning Green for his illegal screen and criticizing the Warriors for what they perceive as a pattern of getting away with such infractions.

The contentious nature of Green’s screen has reignited discussions about the enforcement of rules and the role of referees in maintaining fair play on the court. Some fans have argued that Green should have been penalized for his actions, citing the clear violation of NBA regulations governing screens and player conduct.

Others have pointed out the perceived leniency shown towards the Warriors, suggesting that the team has a history of benefiting from favorable calls and escaping punishment for illegal plays. This sentiment reflects a broader frustration among fans who feel that certain teams receive preferential treatment from officials, undermining the integrity of the game.

In the aftermath of the incident, opinions remain divided on whether Green’s screen warranted disciplinary action and whether the referees failed to uphold the standards of fair play. As discussions continue to unfold online, the incident serves as a reminder of the contentious nature of professional sports and the passionate reactions it elicits from fans worldwide.

The Referees Won The Game For The Warriors

The controversial officiating decisions during the Warriors-Lakers game have sparked a heated debate among fans, with many arguing that the referees played a significant role in determining the outcome of the match in favor of the Warriors. Three key incidents have garnered attention, each contributing to the perception that the referees favored the Warriors and ultimately impacted the final score.

In this incident, Draymond Green set a moving and illegal screen on LeBron James, which went uncalled by the referees. Screens are meant to be stationary, and offensive players cannot impede the movement of defenders.

However, Green’s screen on James was both moving and appeared to push James off balance, creating an advantage for Stephen Curry to drive to the basket and score. This lack of a foul call allowed the Warriors to secure two crucial points that potentially altered the momentum of the game.

During the fourth quarter of the game, with the Warriors leading 102-96, the shot clock inexplicably reset from 9 seconds to 24 seconds, giving the Warriors an additional 15 seconds to execute a play. Such an occurrence is highly irregular and suggests a malfunction or error in the game clock operation.

The extra time allowed the Warriors to set up a play and score an easy layup, extending their lead further. This timing discrepancy significantly impacted the flow of the game and potentially influenced the final outcome.

Perhaps the most contentious incident occurred when LeBron James hit a three-pointer that was initially counted, cutting the Warriors’ lead to just four points. However, upon review by the referees, the shot was deemed invalid as they ruled that James had stepped out of bounds before making the shot.

This decision was met with strong opposition from James and Lakers fans, who argued that enhanced images showed James had not touched the out-of-bounds line, thereby disputing the legitimacy of the call. The reversal of this three-pointer nullified three crucial points for the Lakers and swung the momentum back in favor of the Warriors.

When considering the cumulative impact of these officiating errors, it becomes evident that the referees played a decisive role in determining the outcome of the game. The failure to enforce rules consistently and accurately resulted in crucial points being awarded to the Warriors while unjustly penalizing the Lakers.

If these errors had not occurred, the score would have been tied 124-124 at the end of the game. And given the fact that the Lakers had massive momentum in the closing stages, they would most likely have won the game.

In light of these incidents, many fans and analysts have criticized the referees for their role in influencing the game’s outcome. Calls for increased accountability and transparency in officiating have intensified, as stakeholders seek to address the systemic issues that undermine the integrity of the sport.

Ultimately, the controversy surrounding the officiating during the Warriors-Lakers game highlights the need for reforms within the NBA’s refereeing system to ensure fairness and impartiality in all aspects of the game. Until meaningful changes are implemented, questions regarding the referees’ impact on game outcomes will continue to loom large in the minds of fans and players alike.
