Draymond Green is a 4x champion and he has accomplished more with the Golden State Warriors than most players could ever hope for. As the pillar of a dynasty, Dray has built a true home for himself in San Francisco for a team that appreciates what he brings to the court every single game. And yet, when you talk about Green’s future in Dub Nation, there’s a sense of uncertainty that cannot be shaken.

Remember, it was only months ago that Green punched his own teammate in the face, and now that the Warriors have fallen short of their goal, nobody would be surprised to see GM Bob Myers make some big-time moves. But if you ask Draymond himself what he thinks about the road ahead, a return to the Warriors remains the most likely outcome.

“My future with the Warriors… obviously I have a player option. My agent is Mr. Richard Paul. He is the best in the business,” said Green. “I said all of that to say, we have not had the opportunity yet to sit down and discuss any future things. If I call Rich during the season and I was like, ‘Rich alright so here’s what I’m thinking for free agency’ he’d probably hang up in my face. He’s not ever jumping the gun, he’s not about to talk contract during the season. So as far as the future goes, what I can tell you is, like I said last night, which is I want to be here. I’ve been here 11 years. You don’t just give that away, you don’t just throw that away. And quite frankly, I think we still have more championships that we can and will win. But there’s also an understanding that this is a business and I know the business side of it. I know the penalties that lie ahead with the new CBA. I think winning is worth it…”

It’s pretty clear that if Draymond got what he wanted, he’d be a Warrior for the rest of his career. The question is, would bringing Draymond back be worth the price considering the flaws that are piling up on the roster?

Warriors Have Big Decisions To Make This Offseason

Draymond isn’t the only Warriors champion whose status is uncertain. After an abysmal playoff run, Jordan Poole is also on the hot seat, and league sources are reporting that the Warriors are going to explore what a potential trade might look like for JP and others.

As for Dray, his story is still being written, and whether he opts into his player option or opts out to seek a pay raise, the entire league will be watching to see his next move.
