Warriors star Draymond Green is about as competitive as they come. Still, despite where he and his team stand at this point in the season, he’s not above giving some props to the competition.

In a chat with the media ahead of Game 1, Draymond explained what he sees in Boston and praised their effort and energy on the floor:

“You respect and admire that everyone is defending,” Green said, via Celtics on NBC Sports Boston. “There’s not a guy who comes on the floor that isn’t giving 110%”

The Celtics have certainly proved themselves as worthy foes in these playoffs. With series wins over Brooklyn, Milwaukee, and Miami, they had the hardest road to the Finals and answered every doubt about their play.

Even Warriors owner Joe Lacob recognizes the challenges ahead for his team:

“I think I want it more now because this is considered a great matchup if you’re an NBA fan,” Lacob said. “I think it’s going to be a very interesting matchup. I think it’s going to be really hard. I think we’ll win. I think we’re better. I believe in our coach and I believe in our roster. But I don’t think it’s going to be easy at all. It’s going to be a big battle.”

The Warriors have been here before. Steph, Klay, and Draymond have three championships to their name and they are ready to compete for another.

For Boston, they are still rookies when it comes to the Finals. With a young core and first-year coach, the odds are stacked against them to win the series.

Nevertheless, they are ready and up for the task — and the Warriors know more than anyone not to take them lightly.
