Draymond Green Has Struggled Without Stephen Curry On The Court: Only 12 Points In 4 Games, Warriors Lost All 4 Games

It’s hard to call whether the Golden State Warriors are having a good season or a poor one. The team started the season vying with the Phoenix Suns to stand atop the Western Conference standings but injuries, especially a big one to Draymond Green ensured that they fell off from their early place and now sit in the 3rd seed.

Things were supposed to get better when Draymond returned to the line-up but just a game after the game he made his comeback in, Steph Curry got injured and looks likely to miss most of the remaining regular-season games.

The Warriors were probably hoping that Dray’s return would help the team get back to winning ways even without their talisman in Curry, but it’s not quite panned out that way. Green himself has criticized the team’s performances, but his contribution has also been lacking without Steph around.

As pointed out by NitroXYZ on Reddit, in the 4 games Green has played in since Curry got injured, he’s only managed to score 12 points. That’s only 3 points more than his total number of turnovers which is 9. He has the same number of fouls as points in those games, committing 12. And the cherry on the cake is that the Golden State Warriors have lost all 4 of these games.

Green isn’t known for being a prolific scorer by any means, but having just 4 points on the board with your main offensive weapon out is not something that will contribute to winning basketball. Considering that his playmaking and defense were pointed to as the reason the Warriors were inconsistent when Draymond was injured, those attributes are not enough to make up for the absence of Steph.

To the benefit of the Warriors, the teams behind them also lost on Friday night, so as of now their 3-game cushion in the 3rd seen remains but they will have to get more out of Dray offensively if they want to end the regular season on a high note and make waves in the playoffs.
