For the entirety of Draymond Green’s 10-year career, he’s been a proud member of the Golden State Warriors. As a 4x All-Star, 2x All-NBA player, and 4x Champion, he hasn’t just been ‘along for the ride’ in San Francisco, he’s been a cog in the machine.
But could his run with the Warriors be nearing its end? In a chat with Taylor Rooks this week, Green himself seemed to hint at a Warriors’ departure that will surely shake up the league for years to come.
“Quite frankly, the writing’s on the wall. I understand the business. We tend to get into this mindset of someone owes us something because of what we’ve accomplished. You’d be an idiot to walk around feeling that way. I feel like you’re just setting yourself up for failure. You’re setting yourself up for heartbreak, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. As opposed to saying no, ‘let me learn this business.’ If you don’t get to know this business then you can be blind-sighted and be like ‘oh man well everything I done there I thought I’d be there forever.’ I would love to be. But I understand the luxury tax, I understand you got these young guys and contracts up and they have to get paid. Like, I understand all of those things.”

So while Draymond has no desire to leave the Golden State Warriors, he knows he may not have a choice. The NBA is a business, after all, and teams will always do what they feel is best for them.
The question is, what’s best for the Warriors right now?
Will The Warriors Make Any Trades This Deadline?
This season has not gone according to plan for Dub Nation, but not all is lost. With the assets they have, the Warriors can easily make a move that can help add experience and depth to their bench.
But according to the latest reports, the Warriors will not be eager to make any trades in the near future.
“From the information I have gathered so far, it seems like they are more than willing to sit back and watch other teams make moves unless they truly get an offer that they can’t turn down,” said NBA insider Brett Siegel. “It just doesn’t feel like Wiseman or Kuminga or any of those young guys the Warriors are very high on are really available right now.”
Making a trade this season is going to be a lot easier said than done for the Warriors this season, but they are worried about the bigger picture.
This summer is when the real changes can happen, and that’s when we could see the Warriors go in a direction we’ve never seen them go before.
