Guard Ben Simmons was once viewed as one of the best players in the league, being highly regarded due to his slashing, playmaking, and rebounding ability. However, as of late, the former star has looked like a shell of himself, with many people attributing that to his waning confidence level in his game.
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has recently sympathized with Ben Simmons, stating that he understands what it’s like to lose confidence, admitting that he once lost confidence in his shooting ability.
“You’ve seen people lose confidence in their game. You’re like, ‘Yo, what happened to him.’ Like Ben Simmons… He’s still the same Ben Simmons we watched dominate in Philly. The only difference between Ben Simmons in Philly and Ben Simmons now? Confidence… I know how it feels to lose confidence because I lost confidence in my shot… You’re the same person that was going out there and would get 15 assists before someone blinked, and yet you don’t feel that you can do that no more because your confidence is gone.”

Though Ben Simmons has struggled as of late, the good news for him is that he is only 26 right now. He is about to enter his athletic prime, and Simmons could still turn things around and get his career back on track.
This past season with the Brooklyn Nets, Ben Simmons averaged 6.9 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 6.1 APG while shooting 56.6% from the field. He clearly has issues with his confidence, and we’ll see if he does better next season.
Spencer Dinwiddie Thinks The Philadelphia 76ers Version Of Ben Simmons Can Lead The Nets
Previously, Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie claimed that the Philadelphia 76ers’ version of Ben Simmons can lead the Brooklyn Nets akin to Giannis Antetokounmpo leading the Milwaukee Bucks.
“Ben from Philly – that I played against – elite athlete, 6-foot-10, guard all five positions,” Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie said about Simmons on the ‘Gil’s Arena’. “Can do things that, I mean we probably only really see Giannis [Antetokounmpo] kind of do to a degree – I mean, without the length.”
Hopefully, we do see Ben Simmons step up for the Brooklyn Nets next season. It is time for him to prove all the haters wrong. He’s been working hard, and perhaps we’ll even see him return to All-Star form.
