Ella Mai, the Grammy-winning R&B singer and rumored girlfriend of Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum, has sparked significant speculation about a possible pregnancy. During the Celtics’ championship celebrations, Mai was spotted with what appeared to be a baby bump, setting social media abuzz with excitement and curiosity.

On Tuesday, June 18, 2024, videos and photos surfaced online showing Ella Mai wearing Jayson Tatum’s No. 0 Celtics jersey. These clips, taken during the Celtics’ post-championship celebrations, clearly displayed Mai with a noticeable baby bump, leading many to believe that the couple might be expecting their first child together.

Mai and Tatum have been linked romantically since 2019, but the couple has kept their relationship largely private. Despite the speculation, neither has publicly confirmed their relationship or the pregnancy. However, Mai’s visible baby bump during such a public celebration has led many fans to believe that the couple is indeed expecting.

This potential new chapter comes at a high point in Tatum’s career. Fresh off winning his first NBA championship with the Celtics, Tatum’s personal life appears to be flourishing alongside his professional achievements. If the pregnancy rumors are true, this will be Tatum’s second child, as he already has a son, Jayson “Deuce” Tatum Jr., from a previous relationship with his high school girlfriend, Toriah Lachell.

Ella Mai, who first gained fame with her hit singles “Boo’d Up” and “Trip,” has also enjoyed a successful career in music, releasing three albums and amassing over six million monthly listeners on Spotify. The British singer has been a prominent figure in Tatum’s life, often seen supporting him at games and events, although they have maintained a low-profile relationship.

The sighting of Ella Mai’s baby bump has not only delighted fans but also added a layer of excitement to the celebrations of the Celtics’ 18th NBA title. As the couple continues to keep their relationship private, fans eagerly await any official announcements from Mai and Tatum regarding the pregnancy.

For now, it seems the couple is enjoying their personal and professional successes, much to the joy of their supporters.

Ella Mai’s Music Career

Ella Mai Howell, known professionally as Ella Mai, is an English singer-songwriter born on November 3, 1994. Her journey in music began at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute in London in 2014.

During this period, she auditioned as part of a trio on the 11th season of The X Factor, although the group did not progress beyond the audition stages. In 2015, Mai independently released a four-track solo EP titled “Troubled” on SoundCloud, which garnered attention from American record producer DJ Mustard. Impressed by her talent, DJ Mustard signed her to his label, 10 Summers Records.

From 2016 to 2018, Mai released three EPs under the 10 Summers label: “Time,” “Change,” and “Ready.” Her breakthrough came with her self-titled debut studio album, released in October 2018. The album featured hit singles “Boo’d Up” and “Trip,” which peaked at numbers 5 and 11, respectively, on the US Billboard Hot 100.

“Boo’d Up” was particularly successful, earning nominations for Song of the Year and Best R&B Song at the Grammy Awards, with Mai winning the latter. Her success was further cemented at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, where she won three awards, including Top R&B Artist.

Mai’s music career is characterized by a blend of contemporary R&B and soul, with influences from her Jamaican and Irish heritage. Born and raised in South London, she moved to New York at the age of 12 before returning to England to pursue her music career. Despite her initial brush with fame on The X Factor, it was her perseverance and unique sound that eventually led to her breakthrough in the music industry.

In 2022, Mai released her sophomore album, “Heart on My Sleeve,” which showcased a more mature and confident artist. The album featured a mix of live instrumentation and candid songwriting, reflecting her growth both personally and professionally since her debut. Collaborations with prominent producers and artists like J. Cole and Pharrell further highlighted her versatility and talent.

Throughout her career, Mai has remained true to her artistic vision, consistently delivering music that resonates with her fans. Her journey from a relatively unknown artist to a Grammy-winning R&B sensation is a testament to her dedication and passion for music. With a strong fan base and continued success, Ella Mai is poised to remain a significant figure in the music industry for years to come.
