LeBron James can't catch a break this season. While his Los Angeles Lakers have underperformed this campaign, even though he's posted incredible numbers in the past couple of months, they are in a complex position ahead of the final weeks of the regular season.
Meanwhile, he's trying to have a good time with his wife, and having fun doing other activities. It seems like the King could finish his acting career after he made Space Jam: A New Legacy, which has earned him some bad comments about how terrible the movie, plot, and performance were.
To confirm that, the Golden Raspberry Awards (also known as the Razzies and Razzie Awards) announced that LeBron earned one of their most undesired awards. The Oscars are taking place tomorrow, with the academy set to award the best movies, actors, directors, and more in a big ceremony.
On the other hand, the Razzies decided to give an unflattering award to the worst movies we saw in the past year. The organization announced that the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has won in the category of worst actor for his performance on Space Jam: A New Legacy (at 3:00 you can see LeBron winning his award).
Dribbling into second place with three “wins” was Space Jam: A New Legacy, more of a remake than a sequel, called out as a 115 minute commercial for all things WarnerMedia. Basketball phenom LeBron James was the MVP in both Worst Actor and Worst Screen Couple (along with all those cartoon co-stars and product plugs) while the film itself was chosen Worst Remake/Rip-Off or Sequel.
Many people disliked the new edition of the 90s classic, some criticizing the plot, others raising their eyebrows seeing characters that gave nightmares to a lot of people in a movie for children and more. Still, kids enjoyed the film and that was the important thing. LeBron seems to be happy with the final result and that's also a crucial thing. The King is still trying to lead the Lakers to the promised land, but as things stand right now, that Razzie is the only prize he'll lift this season.
