The Miami Heat might still be the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, but their record over the last few games hasn’t been exactly ideal. Before facing the Golden State Warriors, the Heat lost three out of their last six games.

Well, their record further dropped after closing the fixture against the Golden State Warriors. Although the Heat won’t mind the defeat as much as the other incident that took place on the floor.

Yes, we are talking about the heated altercation between Jimmy Butler and head coach Erik Spoelstra. Coach Spo called a timeout to probably talk about how to stop the Warriors from scoring with ease on their team.

It seemed like during that team huddle, Jimmy Butler disagreed with something that the coach had to say. This led to Udonis Haslem intervening in between. Instead of cooling things down, that further added fuel to the fire, causing a heated exchange between Butler and coach Spo.

Considering it was a pretty huge fight, it was evident that the media would ask coach Spo questions about that. When the media did that in the postgame conference, Spoelstra made a few jokes about it.

“Everybody was wondering where the dinner plans were tonight after the game. It was pretty clear. We have a very competitive, gnarly group and we were getting our a**es kicked. Two straight games, we’re not playing to the level we want to play and I would say virtually every single person in that huddle was pretty animated about our disappointment in how we were playing.”

Considering Spoelstra was making jokes about the incidents right after the game, it will serve as a sigh of relief for the Heat fans.

Moreover, point guard Kyle Lowry also spoke about the altercation between Butler and Spo. He believes that the team has great leadership and this incident won’t have much impact on the team’s performance in the future.

Whether that is true or not, we will find out in the coming games of the regular season and the 2022 NBA playoffs.
