Every Time The Chicago Bulls Come To Boston, Dennis Rodman Would Buy Out Toys-R-Us And Deliver To The Boston Children’s Hospital: No Cameras, No Reporters

Dennis Rodman is one of the most colorful personalities the sport of basketball has ever seen. While he was considered outlandish for his time, Rodman never let anything off the court stop him from achieving great success on the court. Rodman is a 5-time champion and is regarded as one of the greatest rebounders of all time.

Rodman’s actions during his prime in the ’90s were a constant source of controversy. Be it the time he appeared on a wrestling show during the NBA Finals or his outfits that were considered far too progressive for their time.

Behind the personality, people saw on and off the court, there was an incredibly generous man that people often failed to see. It could be because he didn’t care to highlight it. A fan alleged on Twitter that Rodman used to buy gifts from Toys R Us for the Boston Children’s Hospital whenever he came to Boston on a road trip with the Bulls.

Word around Boston was that every time the Bulls came to town, Rodman would buy out Toys-R-Us and deliver it to Children’s Hospital. No cameras, no reporters. Maybe if he’d been thinking of himself in those moments he’d be considered interesting, who’s to say

Considering Rodman played for the Bulls for 3 seasons, he made a fair few trips to the Boston Toys R Us. This was an incredibly sweet gesture from Rodman, who doesn’t care what people think of him. He just did a good deed for the ones that needed it.

Rodman grew up in one of the most impoverished parts of Dallas in incredibly strenuous circumstances. The fact that he made it as far as he had in his life was an amazing achievement. His wanting to give back to the community is natural.

Champions are made on the NBA court, but champions can also be crowned outside the court through how people perceive you. Rodman didn’t care about how he was perceived, he just did a good deed to do a good deed, and that is remarkable in itself.
