Paul George single-handedly saved this game for the Clippers. Give that man his flowers.

The Lakers were led by their team leader LeBron James, who had 35 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists on the night. Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell both added 27 points while Austin Reaces had 15 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in a well-rounded showing. Christian Wood was a difference-maker off the bench, notching 10 points and 11 rebounds in a clutch cameo.
The Clippers missed their bench depth as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were both on song tonight. Leonard had 38 points while George had 36 points in the loss. Russell Westbrook showed up with big numbers, notching 24 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, and four steals.
Russell Westbrook Threw Shade At The Lakers Before The Game
This was a very notable game, as it marked the first time Russell Westbrook played in a Lakers home game since leaving the franchise. He did play against the Lakers last season, but that was a Clippers home game. The reception for him was pretty rough before this game, but he did make shady comments towards the franchise stars of the Lakers.
Westbrook openly expressed his gratitude to Paul George and Kawhi Leonard for letting him play as the point guard of the Clippers, shading the off-ball focus the Lakers gave him during his time with the franchise.
“I’ve been a Point Guard since I’ve been in this league, and I always will be. I would say I’m pretty good at that position… I’m grateful that Paul and Kawhi allow me to play my position.”
Russ had a solid game tonight. It’ll be interesting to see how he plays now that the Clippers have acquired James Harden, who excels with the ball in his hands as a primary playmaker.
