Superstar LeBron James is still one of the best players in the league at age 38, and he has been stellar in the playoffs thus far. The Los Angeles Lakers are now in the Western Conference Finals despite them being the 13th seed at one point in the season.

There is no denying that a lot of people believe that LeBron James is the GOAT of basketball, and it is clear that a fifth championship would strengthen his GOAT case. In fact, Chandler Parsons has already stated that LeBron James should be considered “the best player of all time” if the Lakers win a ring after their struggles this year.

“If he wins this after everything they’ve been through this season… tell me he’s not the best player of all time. Scoring record and a chip.”

The Los Angeles Lakers will definitely enter the series against the Denver Nuggets as the underdogs and for good reason. Nikola Jokic is playing at an MVP level, and the team as a whole has cohesion and chemistry that has developed over multiple seasons.

However, with LeBron James on the Los Angeles Lakers roster, they shouldn’t be counted out. He is currently averaging 23.4 PPG, 10.0 RPG, and 5.3 APG in the playoffs, and led the team in defeating the Golden State Warriors in the second round.

LeBron James Thinks The Denver Nuggets Will Be A Harder Matchup Then Golden State Warriors

There is no doubt that LeBron James respects the Denver Nuggets, and he previously claimed that they are going to be a harder matchup than the Golden State Warriors simply because they are in the Western Conference Finals.

“As hard as were thought level two was, it’s gonna be even harder in this round. That doesn’t take away anything from Golden State because I know, I’ve had my battle switch that franchise, so I know how hard it is. But as you continue to go up and up into the numbers, level three is just a difficult challenge. Both teams are one step away from having an opportunity to play for what they started in the beginning of the year and that’s the Larry O’Brien trophy. So it becomes very challenging.”

As a team progresses through the playoffs, each subsequent matchup is going to be harder than the past one. It will be interesting to see how the Lakers end up doing, and if they can get past Nikola Jokic, they can absolutely win the NBA Finals.
