Former Trainer Explains Michael Jordan’s Influence: “For Him Everything That Happened Was Just Another Chance To Show How To Win Under All These Different Circumstances”

Michael Jordan’s figure is perhaps the most respected and mythical around the NBA. From the coaches, players, fans, and even the media; there’s not a single person who’s not impressed, humbled, and amazed when he’s in the room.

Jordan’s legacy in the NBA goes beyond words. He made the game global and made millions of people fall in love with basketball. Up to this day, it still seems like we haven’t witnessed a similar phenomenon.

That’s why former coach Tim Grover tried to explain just how impactful he’s been, talking about his determination, and the influence he had on younger basketball players:

“I remember when Zach Lavine had a 50 point-game in Chicago and he was the first player to do it in a while or I can’t remember the whole thing and they asked him about Mike and he said listen, MJ’s a ghost, he’s a myth and he goes that’s the perpetuation of what he’s created. And the Last Dance just took it to a completely different level to see how intense he was and how focused he was during one of the most difficult times to win,” Grover said.

He went on to describe just how mentally strong and determined he was and how that helped him stand above the rest of the league:

“But his desire and the mental fortitude to win during any adversity that was thrown at you, for most individuals they would have been like, I am not going to do this. For him everything that happened was just another chance to show how to win under all these different circumstances,” added Grover.

Younger fans may disagree with those who say that there will never be a player like – or better than – Michael Jordan. But there’s just no way to discredit every single thing he did on this league, and – more importantly – how he made everybody around the world feel when they watched him play.
