Anybody that’s been paying attention to the Lakers will be aware of their struggles, which has the team sitting at an 8-8 record through 16 games.

But Lakers Nation is also waging a war against the officiating, to the point where the fans are literally shouting ‘you suck!’ chants at refs in Staples Center.

Following the team’s most recent loss, even head coach Frank Vogel couldn’t help but make his issue with the officiating public.

“Disappointed with some of the calls we got,” he said. “Anthony Davis getting zero free throw attempts is a little mind-boggling. We’ll continue to communicate with the league on that.”

Flaming the officiating has been a theme this season, and it seems to stem from the league’s implementation of their new foul rules, which many around the association are not huge fans of.

“I feel like the way the game is being officiated is unacceptable. I don’t wanna go too deep into it so they make a big deal out of it, but the explanations, the shit that’s getting missed. I mean, come on. I felt like coming in the rule change wouldn’t affect me because I don’t do the trick the referees, I don’t do the trick plays. It’s just unacceptable, man,” Damian Lillard said. “Then the explanations and remarks when you’re telling ’em, it’s just like…I don’t even have nothing else to say about it.”

Interestingly, while Anthony Davis did not get to the line a single time on Wednesday, his average for the season (6.2)  is not far from what’s normal for his career (7.0).

Needless to say, the Lakers are fighting to get more calls, and are going so far as to contact the NBA for a solution

No matter what happens, though, Anthony Davis has been doing well enough so far, with an average of 24.2 points and 10.9 rebounds per game on 51% shooting.
