This season has not gone as planned for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. They are a play-in tier team after having contending aspirations at the start of the season, and there is no doubt the individual talent on the team suggests they should be better as a unit.

Amidst this tumultuous Los Angeles Lakers season, there have been some suggestions that LeBron James could potentially return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James himself has stated that the door isn’t closed on that option.

Now the only question is whether another picture could go up there again some day. Could James actually return to Cleveland and play for the Cavaliers a third time?

“The door’s not closed on that,” James told The Athletic Saturday following the East’s team practice on the campus of Cleveland State. “I’m not saying I’m coming back and playing, I don’t know. I don’t know what my future holds. I don’t even know when I’m free.”

James, of course, is a free agent after next season. He is tethered to the Lakers for one more year.

Frank Vogel has recently dismissed rumors that suggested LeBron James would end up leaving to go to the Cleveland Cavaliers, claiming that all the talk about that is just “noise”. Mike McDaniels of Sports Illustrated relayed the news.

Lakers coach Frank Vogel addressed the comments and associated rumors surrounding James’s future in Los Angeles with media on Thursday afternoon.

“I learned to let the noise be noise,” Vogel said during media availability on Thursday.

“I enjoyed the break with my family. That’s just noise.”

We will see if LeBron James does end up having a third stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. It could definitely be a solid option for him in the future, as he’d be teaming up with two All-Stars in Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen.

As of now though, LeBron James will have to focus on this current season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Hopefully, they are able to make the playoffs with their current squad, and with LeBron James leading them, they will always be a dangerous team.
