Gilbert Arenas has seen and heard many things over his 10 years in the NBA, and the time he’s spent as a public figure. He reveals some of the sordid things he hears about on his various media channels, recently revealing that he once heard Harvey Weinstein imply that Halle Berry slept with him to land movie roles.

“2003-04. Halle Berry was walking by and I was like ‘Oh sh*t, Halle Berry bro!’ It was like four or five white dudes sitting there, Harvey Weinstein was one of them… I’m in like the second row, and they were sitting there and talking about, ‘Oh now she acting like she don’t know us, she wasn’t saying that when she needed that part.’ Every single one of them hit. I was like, ‘No, not Halle. No, not them. Yuck! Damn, they got the Berry.’”

Arenas really shouldn’t have brought up such a can of worms while talking on a podcast. It slanders the work that Berry has put in over her career, especially without proof. What he’s saying could be true, but these are just allegations that should not be made without proof, especially given the history of Weinstein.

Weinstein was one of the biggest producers in Hollywood and was accused of sexual assault, rape, and sexual abuse over 30 years with dozens of actresses. These accusations led to the popularization of the ‘#MeToo’ movement, as sexual abuse survivors revealed their stories. The accusations led to string of powerful male executives around the world to get outed as well, leading to mass changes in workplace culture and leadership. In March 2020, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years of imprisonment.

Arenas’ claims about Weinstein and Berry are plausible, as many actresses have found themselves in situations where they had to give in to Weinstein to further their careers. That doesn’t delegitimize her success and goes on to show how twisted the industry can be.

Shaquille O’Neal Wanted To Impress Halle Berry During His Playing Days

Shaquille O’Neal has professed his attraction to Halle Berry multiple times over his career. He once went onto Kelly Clarkson’s show and revealed that he once went out of his way to impress Berry sitting courtside at a game.

“My heart started fluttering, I get nervous, I call a time out. Coach said, ‘What are you doing?!’ I said, ‘Shut up, Halle Berry is here to watch me. Nobody shoots, make sure I get the ball.’ And guess what, I actually made the free throw. I made the free throw, I was looking at Halle like [winks].” “So when I was young, I used to stutter,” he also shared. “She’s the only woman that makes my stuttering come back.”

O’Neal had professed his love for Berry in his book ‘Shaq Uncut’ as well.

“I remember being in the dorm room one night and we were watching the movie Jungle Fever with Halle Berry in it, and I thought she was so stunning, so I wrote her a letter. I was just kind of kidding around, telling her I was a big fan and I’d love to meet her sometime. The guys totally goofed on me for doing it, but I didn’t care. A few weeks later, no lie, Halle Berry wrote me back. She sent me a signed picture that I still have hanging in my office. Turns out she’s a basketball fan. She wrote, “I’m a big fan of yours, too. I can’t wait until you get to the NBA.”

Berry has won over hearts and minds throughout her phenomenal acting career. Even though she once claimed Kobe Bryant was her favorite player in 2005. This might have been a battle that Shaq lost, but it’s clear he admires her regardless.
