Glen Davis is one of the most colorful characters we have seen in the NBA. The former NBA Champion was a serviceable role player in the NBA for years and keeps himself around the game to this day, even being kicked out of a seat at a Celtics-Nets game.

He recently appeared on the ‘All The Smoke’ podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson, discussing many things about the league and their lives. The conversation became very interesting when ‘Big Baby’ Davis was asked about the 5 people he’d want to have dinner with, dead or alive.

Davis gave a very thorough answer, featuring just 1 NBA player on his list of 5. He is willing to bring Bernie Mack out of the grave to be at this dinner. Mack will be joined by the only NBA player on the list, Kevin Garnett, alongside Lizzo, Denzel Washington, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

“Gonna get Bernie Mack out the grave,” the former forward began. “Pull him up. I gotta laugh. Gotta laugh. I gotta have something sexy bad at the table. So, I’mma go get big Lizzo. … Now, I gotta go with [an] actor cause I want to talk, talk good stories. … Denzel [Washington]. He looks like I could learn something from him. A father figure. I would love to sit with him at the table.”

“I’mma go get Big Ticket cause he got hella stories,” Davis explained. “He gonna talk all day. … Yeah, he paying for the tab. Big fella always somehow paid for the tab, I don’t know how he do it. Just a magician, like, ‘Oh, he paid for it already.’ So I’d pick him, he funny.”

“That’s super, super tough,” he responded. “When I think about somebody that’s not alive, and I think that I would, you know, learn so much from… damn. I’mma have to go with Martin Luther King. I think he had a great balance. You know what I mean? And then also what he stood for, it was just so magical and strong, too. It’s immortality, in a way. … I just like the versatility that he had as an individual and what he did, you know, for us. And he ain’t lame, I don’t think. I don’t think, he’d be cool, you know what I’m saying?” (h/t Sportscasting)

This would be a very interesting dinner party if it could have been arranged. Kevin Garnett being the only NBA player on the list goes to show the love that Davis feels for a man he looks at like a mentor.

KG is someone Davis has already had plenty of dinners with, so to include him on this list is further proof of how much Big Baby appreciated Garnett. The other names on this make it seem like a dinner where a lot of people can learn a lot of great things. All brought under the same roof by Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis.
