Joel Embiid and James Harden became superstar teammates with the Philadelphia 76ers after the team traded for Harden in 2022. Despite initial optimism in Philly, the two failed to make it past the Eastern Conference Semifinals two years in a row.

And now the situation has gotten even more dire, with Harden having requested a trade and looking to move away. His absence was noted at Joel Embiid’s wedding recently, and now a fan has made fun of him for the Instagram story he posted during that time.

“Harden really skipped Embiid’s wedding to eat burgers and go clubbing… I give up,” a fan wrote on Twitter, posting a video of Harden enjoying some burgers on what appeared to be a night out.

It seems that things have gotten quite bad between the Beard and the Sixers at this point, he seems to have checked out from the team entirely. Not being present at Joel Embiid’s wedding is a sign that he is fully committed to moving away, now it remains to be seen if Daryl Morey can find the right trade for Harden.

As far as the Philadelphia 76ers and Joel Embiid are concerned, they likely only want to get a good package in return for Harden, which is probably the biggest of their concerns. He wants to go to the Los Angeles Clippers, but reports make it seem like that is unlikely to happen at the moment.

Los Angeles Clippers Are Considering Potential Alternatives To James Harden

The one concern for James Harden will be if the team he wants to go to, the Los Angeles Clippers, pulls out of trading for him. He is seemingly burning his bridges in Philadelphia, and sitting out is something he has shown in the past that he won’t do. And there are rumors that the Clippers do have backup plans if the Harden deal does not materialize.

“The Clippers covet James Harden and are doing everything they can to get him. If a deal can’t be reached, they do have a Plan B. Zach LaVine would become a very intriguing target for LA.”

James Harden is not the player he once was, his scoring has fallen off quite drastically. The market for him seems to be a bit small at the minute too, considering that this is the third time he is requesting a trade since 2021. His legacy might end up being defined by how all of this pans out.
