LeBron James has been in the NBA for two decades, and he has played at an elite level for all of them. He has been named an NBA All-Star for 19 of those years, winning four championships, and four MVPs along the way.

After he broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record this season, LeBron James‘ longevity has been getting the praise it deserves. And while answering a question about it recently, LeBron James interestingly spoke about how his sons Bronny and Bryce have helped him with that.

“As I get older, I play with much younger guys. I think my sons keep me young,” he said. “I use it before games, I watch a lot of film on the opponent.

“My son Bryce had an AAU game EYBL game in Phoenix tonight, so up until probably 45 minutes on the clock I was watching his game and watching him going out there and performing and seeing him play that kind of inspired me. It kept me young tonight.”

LeBron James has made it clear that he would like to be in the NBA long enough to play alongside his sons, and that seems to be a big motivation for him. He does a lot of other things that help him stay at the highest level for so long, but the mental aspect of it seems to have been helped by his sons.

LeBron James Is Vocal About Supporting His Sons As They Try To Make The NBA

Bronny James could be drafted as soon as the 2024 NBA Draft, and it will be interesting to see which team will pick him. LeBron James has taken time out of a busy NBA schedule to go watch Bronny, like when he went to Portland to watch the Nike Hoop Summit earlier this month.

Bryce James also receives constant attention and hype from his father, LeBron posted a story about the latest viral clip showcasing his improved game. And both Bronny and Bryce have access to James’ connections, as shown by their being signed to Klutch Sports.

Some of these things sound like basic parenting, but it’s important to remember that a lot of people don’t involve themselves in their children’s lives. LeBron James should be celebrated for being a role model as a father, and the fact that he also derives inspiration from it is just another part of his greatness.
