Insider Familiar With James Harden Described The Rockets Culture As Toxic And Called Them The ‘Knicks Of The South’

James Harden and the Houston Rockets are one of the most famous topics in the NBA right now and nobody knows when this whole thing will stop. The shooting guard is said to be pushing for an exit of the Rockets and his recent behavior only fuels those rumors about a potential departure from H-Town. Harden has been the face of the franchise for eight years now and seeing him go would be very painful for the fans.

However, it looks like he’s ready to join another team and the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers appear to be the frontrunners in this race. Reports suggest Harden believes his time to win a championship with Houston is gone now and he wants to try his luck with a different organization. All of these get darker when we learn that somebody close to him believes the Rockets don’t have the best environment and called them ‘toxic.’

Sports Illustrated’s Rohan Nadkarni reported that one ‘insider familiar’ with Harden described the Rockets as ‘toxic,’ even calling them the Knicks of the South.

The New York Knicks have been one of the worst organizations in the NBA in recent years but they haven’t had a superstar like Harden since Carmelo Anthony left the team. Now that Harden is likely to leave Houston, some could think they will have the same fate. However, they have John Wall and given the high price they’re asking for Harden, the Rockets will be competitive for several years, even if their star leaves them.
