Isiah Thomas has big praise for Giannis Antetokounmpo after the 2x NBA MVP led the Milwaukee Bucks to the promised land earlier this week.

Giannis was absolutely dominant during the 2021 NBA playoff, taking the Milwaukee Bucks to the championship for the first time since 1971. The Greek Freak was on a tear, taking his game to the next level throughout the rounds.

He really took off in the Finals, dominating the Phoenix Suns in six games, even after hurting his knee in the Eastern Conference Finals. That wasn’t a problem for him, and Giannis earned Finals MVP honors after an incredible performance. It was so good that Isiah compared him to other all-time great Finals performances, perfectly describing how amazing the Greek Freak was.

“I would just say one of the most historical Finals performances ever that we witnessed tonight. And being in the building and watching it live, some of the dunks looked like he was playing nerfball.”

“But then also to see him go 17 of 19 from the foul line, the importance of a closeout game and having the best game of your life and just a closeout game, it’s something that I’ll remember for the rest of my life. And I’m sure other people will remember it too.”

“This was a Wilt Chamberlain performance, this was a Lew Alcindor/Kareem, you know, Shaq performance. This wasn’t like just, you know, a Dirk Nowitzki performance or a Karl Malone. This was like the giants of our industry. That kind of performance.”

The 26-year-old finished the series posting 35.2 points, 13.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 6 games. This was definitely something great to watch, with Giannis topping it off with a 50-piece in Game 6, clinching the series at Fiserv Forum.

This young man is ready to keep making history, and the Bucks fans can’t wait to see what’s next for him. They just won a championship, and people are already calling them a dynasty. It remains to be seen if they can extend these sweet moments for more years, but they are in an excellent position to add a couple of more titles.
