Former NBA star Jamal Crawford wants more out of James Harden and he was vocal about the ramifications if the Philadelphia 76ers felt the guard felt short.
Harden has been impressive for the Sixers this season averaging 21.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 11.1 assists. However, it goes without saying that the team needs him to be at his best when they make the postseason, an objective they’re certain to achieve.
Crawford’s comments come on the back of a forgettable shooting night for Harden against the Los Angeles Clippers. He ended his evening with just six field-goal attempts to finish with six points.
Speaking on NBA on TNT, the former Chicago Bulls guard said ‘The Beard’ would need to do more else he would risk failing in the playoffs again.

“If Maxey and Tobias Harris are your second-leading guys, I’m not sure its gonna get you far in the playoffs”, Crawford said.
“But the thing that scares me about them is, if Maxey and Tobias Harris are your second-leading guys, I’m not sure it’s gonna get you far in the playoffs. James Harden was brought there to be the second guy. I love point guard James Harden. I love how he passes the ball. But getting five, six shots in the playoffs, that’s not gonna get it done.”
It might be a one-off night for Harden, who has been doing his bit for the Sixers as they look to lift the coveted title.
James Harden Believes The Philadelphia 76ers Are His Best Bet To Win The Title
While his numbers have been enough to complement MVP candidate Joel Embiid richly, Harden believes that his consistency and coupled with the team’s performances made the Sixers his best chance to win his maiden NBA title.
Speaking with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, he outlined his expectations for Philadelphia and while he knows he was part of some big franchises in the past, he knows his current team is the one with who he stands a chance.

“Top, for sure. We had some really good teams in Oklahoma City, then that ’18 team in Houston. But this team is definitely the best chance I’ve had to win.”
This comes as news, especially after reports emerged that Harden may have plans to return to the Houston Rockets. But for now, he appears absolutely focused on his goal and that’s lifting the elusive trophy.
The Sixers and Harden play the Portland Trail Blazers next, followed by a skirmish against the Sacramento Kings.
