Fresh off winning a championship, it’s no wonder why the Golden State Warriors have become a premier destination for free agents. They have a vibrant culture, a rocking fanbase, and a star-studded core that just proved they still have what it takes to win.

But for the newest signee, JaMychal Green, joining Dub Nation is about more than just chasing a ring. It’s about becoming a part of something that is bigger than himself. In a new video, the veteran big man dropped some truth bombs about his decision and what it was that lured him to San Francisco in the first place.

“What they’ve built here, it’s an empire, and I just wanna be a part of it,” Green said. “From what I’ve experienced, [Warriors fans] will die behind their team. They travel with their team and they’re just one of the best fans in the game right now. Just the atmosphere of playing against those guys, it’s gonna be crazy being on the home team.”

During his introductory press conference earlier this week, JaMychal also went into some details on his feelings about joining the Warriors.

“I just feel like they keep you on your toes,” Green said on Tuesday. “Come in here, you can’t settle, you can’t get satisfied with anything. You’re constantly working, constantly getting better and that’s something I needed to be around and just to be around those types of players that won championships and just have that vet in them. It just has everything here. From Andre being a leader as well, you got Steph, you got Klay… when you come here and handle business, you can set yourself up for life.”

The Warriors are back on top of the basketball world again, and they will have a shot to repeat as champions, just like they did in 2018.

From the outside looking in, it can be a frustrating reality for many players. For Green, who is now a part of this dynasty, it’s just the start of what is sure to be an amazing tenure.
