Jayson Tatum must be far from the happiest person in the world right now after some disappointing performances in the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors. Tatum was amazing throughout the playoffs but couldn’t sustain it at the final hurdle and ended up just missing out on his first championship. But there are many things to give him perspective and help him feel better about everything, especially his son Deuce.

Tatum’s son has fascinated NBA fans since he started making regular appearances on the court to support his dad. The young Deuce is often seen dapping up his dad’s teammates and generally being extremely cute on the court, and Tatum’s love for his son is apparent at those times too. He writes Deuce’s name on all of his sneakers, something he recently spoke about in an interview.

“For those that don’t know, I have a 4-year-old son, and that’s his nickname. You know, Deuce is the real superstar in Boston. And it’s crazy to see the reception and the attention that he gets. When I found out I was having a child in my rookie year, never in my wildest dreams did I think that he would be as big as he is. Just his personality and I think that people recognize the relationship that we have.”

There is something very heartwarming about seeing how close Tatum is to his son and how much Deuce loves being around his father, they set a great example for young fathers everywhere. having Deuce’s name on his shoes must surely give Tatum perspective as well and inspire him to play at the insanely high level he plays at.

Things might get a little different once the Deuce starts growing up, and isn’t in the limelight so much, but for now, he is the darling of the Celtics, and Tatum’s relationship with his son is one of the most wholesome things about the NBA.
