Jeanie Buss was caught up in an unfortunate situation earlier this month, where her Twitter account got hacked. Despite the increased security measures in place in this day and age, these incidents, unfortunately, pop up on occasion and the Lakers owner was the latest big-name victim.

While hackers usually resort to putting out tweets like the ones we saw when Chris Paul’s account was hacked last year, the ones in Jeanie’s case, tricked people into falling for a PS5 scam. Buss later issued a statement via the Lakers in which she asked fans to not engage with the account or send any money, but it seems the damage had been done as some fell victim to it. Once her account was reclaimed, it seems Buss has been doing the right thing, as she recently refunded one of the people who had lost their money.

The amount in question is nothing for Buss, but it would have meant a lot for the fan that she decided to take the initiative and do it on her own, although it wasn’t really her fault that they lost the money.

It was a positive resolution to an unfortunate situation and we can only hope that something like this doesn’t happen again with anyone, although that isn’t all that likely with the way these hackers are going. It is said that you shouldn’t trust everything that you see online and this is another classic case of that.

While the fan undoubtedly felt a lot of gratitude towards Buss, someone who isn’t all that happy with her might be Russell Westbrook. Jeanie recently spoke about the future for the Lakers, but she didn’t mention Russ while doing so and the recent acquisition of Patrick Beverley via trade wouldn’t have made him too happy either. His time in LA seems to be coming to an end one way or another with the way things are going right now.
