Jimmy Butler doesn’t seem to be too worried about the Miami Heat’s position on the Eastern Conference standings this season. The player has made it clear he wants to play and beat the best but he doesn’t know who ranks where. He’s focused on taking his team to the postseason again and that’s it.

After that, the competition will start again and this man is ready for the job. However, he doesn’t care about the team the Heat will face either in the play-in tournament or the first round of the playoffs. On Wednesday, he was asked if he keeps an eye on the standings and his response was the most Jimmy Butler thing ever.

“I can’t speak for everybody. I don’t care,” Butler said of the standings. “I really don’t. I don’t pay attention to it. I don’t be on the World Wide Web like that. So I can’t tell you who is where.

“I know in our team meeting we talk about it. All we got to do is get there. We get there, us as a team, I’ll handle the rest.”

The Heat haven’t had the same season they had last year and right now are 7th in the East, which would make them play the play-in tournament to secure their spot in the postseason. If they keep that position, right now they would face the Brooklyn Nets, a team with plenty of stars that was beaten by Bam Adebayo last week.

Butler and his team surprised everybody last year and the same could happen this one but the competition is a lot harder for the Floridians. The Sixers, Nets and Bucks are the favorites to win the East and there are teams like the New York Knicks who can surprise plenty of fans if they keep playing well. We are one month away from the playoffs and things will be clearer when that moment comes but right now Jimmy B isn’t worried about it.
