Jimmy Butler On How The Heat Will Handle Their Game 4 Loss Against The Celtics: “We Gon’ Drink Some Beers”

Jimmy Butler says the Heat aren't going to feel too down following their Game 4 loss as they'll listen to some music and drink beer.

The Miami Heat looked on their way to the NBA Finals when they led 61-52 in the early stages of the third quarter in Game 4 but things then went horribly wrong for them.

The Boston Celtics finally played up to their potential as they blew out the Heat 116-99 to reduce the series deficit to 3-1. Jimmy Butler was asked afterward how the Heat would handle this defeat and he had a hilarious response.

“We gon’ listen to some music, we gon’ drink some beers back there. Finna go have some wine,” Butler said. “I don’t think that you can just focus on basketball all the time, you have to be able to get away from the game a little bit, think about it. But at the end of the day, you fall back on your habits… We’re gonna smile, we’re gonna be in this thing together like we always are. We’re gonna go get one on the road.”

(starts at 0:47 mark):

The Heat aren’t going to panic after this setback and they’d be fancying themselves to wrap up the series in Boston in Game 5. They would be disappointed to let this one slip from their grasp, however, as they have given the Celtics some hope now. As for Butler’s play in this game, he didn’t have a great outing by his high standards, finishing with 29 points on 9-21 shooting from the field but he did record 9 rebounds, 5 assists, a steal, and a block.

Was Game 4 An Anomaly Or A Sign Of Things To Come?

Coming into Game 4, there was a massive difference in the three-point shooting in this series. The Heat had shot 44-92 (47.8%) from beyond the arc while the Celtics shot just 31-106 (29.2%). In this game though, the Celtics were 18-45 while the Heat were just 8-32.

While Boston may not be that hot from three the rest of the way, you’d expect their shooting to be a lot better than in the first three games. The question then is whether the Heat can keep up the ridiculous rate at which they were making shots previously but fortunately for them, they just need to catch fire in one of the three remaining games and you’d back them to do that.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
