JJ Redick and Stephen A. Smith were at it again when discussing Nikola Jokic’s dominance in the ongoing NBA Finals, especially in the post.

After Smith began his tirade on Jokic’s game in the post, “Jokic isn’t known for having some kind of dominant post-game. That’s not his game,” Smith said. To which Redick replied:

“Hold on a second. We’ve got 10 years of tracking data. You know what the number one most efficient halfcourt play is in 10 years across the NBA? A Nikola Jokic post up.”

To put things in perspective, Jokic has scored more of his post touches. This was confirmed by one of the analysts.

Following Redick’s roast, Smith attempted to walk back saying, “Listen, y’all know what I’m saying. He’s got such a beautiful touch, he reminds me more of a McHale than a Shaq.” Except, Redick wasn’t relenting. And Smith had no other way to go but concede defeat. “I stand corrected,” he signed off.

Nikola Jokic Hailed As One Of The Best Centers In The NBA

Former NBA star Jay Williams was lavish in his praise of Jokic, calling him one of the best centers in the modern-day league.

“I’m gonna go with the one player that I think frankly before it’s all said and done, will be the best center to ever play the game of basketball. There you go. I’ve said it. Nikola Jokic,” said Williams.

Jokic is averaging 30.5 PPG, 13.4 RPG, and 10.1 APG in the playoffs and the general speculation is that his fantastic run would culminate in Denver winning the Finals. On the count of championships, Jokic has the time and mileage left in him to catch up with the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O’Neal, and Hakeem Olajuwon. Only time will tell if he can indeed match up to the greats.
