The Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks are playing each other in the Western Conference Finals and the Warriors have comfortably thrown the first punch at home. After a blowout win in Game 1, the Warriors mounted an impressive comeback in Game 2 to take a 2-0 lead to Dallas with the pressure on the Mavericks.

Dallas fans aren’t having very good a time in this series, with Golden State being a very difficult opponent to come back in a series against considering their championship pedigree. And the Warriors can certainly expect the American Airlines Center to be extremely loud going into Games 3 and 4, and two of their players got a taste of that already.

The two Warriors were at the WNBA game between the Minnesota Lynx and the Dallas Wings and even though Poole had on a Wings jersey, it wasn’t enough to spare him the boos from the watching Dallas faithful. Payton and Poole were shown on the big screen in the arena, and the crowd let them know exactly what they think of them.

For the most part, both of them just seemed amused more than antagonized, which makes sense considering that the Warriors are comfortably leading in the series. Poole in particular has been instrumental in that, averaging 22 points in the first 2 games and making a massive difference for the Warriors bench unit.

Dallas fans have shown a glimpse of the energy they will undoubtedly bring to the first home game of a Conference Finals their team is playing in for over a decade. The series is far from over, but the Mavericks can’t afford to drop a game at home and will need to repeat their performance from the Phoenix Suns series. As things stand, it promises to be a heated atmosphere in a pivotal Game 3 in this series.
