In a recent game between the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers, forward Josh Hart found himself in a hilarious interaction with referee JB DeRosa after committing a foul on none other than LeBron James. The Knicks ultimately suffered a 113-105 loss to the Lakers at Madison Square Garden.

In the captured audio, Hart humorously questioned the referee’s ability to witness the foul, stating:

“There’s no way you could see that unless you have X-ray vision.”

Despite the clear acknowledgment of the foul, Hart went on to playfully praise DeRosa, calling it a “great call.” The Knicks veteran seemed genuinely surprised at how the referee managed to discern the infraction without possessing superhuman powers.

The amusing incident gained attention as Hart, who was mic’d up for the game, expressed disbelief that the referee had spotted his foul on LeBron James. Following a forearm shove on James, resulting in two free throws for the Lakers star, Hart engaged in a light-hearted exchange with DeRosa.

This incident adds to Josh Hart’s track record of entertaining sideline exchanges with referees. Notably, he had a memorable encounter with referee Scott Foster during the playoffs in the previous year.

The Lakers, with LeBron James back in action after missing the previous game, secured the victory over the Knicks, ending New York’s impressive nine-game winning streak. LeBron James contributed significantly to the Lakers’ success, scoring 24 points, grabbing five rebounds, and providing five assists. Anthony Davis, returning after a two-game absence, added 11 points, 18 rebounds, and five assists in the game.

Despite the loss, the Knicks remain a formidable force in the Eastern Conference, led by rising star Jalen Brunson, who scored an impressive 36 points with 10 assists in the game. The defeat, however, brought an end to the Knicks’ 15-3 record since the beginning of the year, placing them 1.5 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks in the playoff race.

LeBron James Admits He Thought About Playing For The Knicks

LeBron James, the iconic figure of the Los Angeles Lakers, recently revealed that the thought of playing for the New York Knicks has crossed his mind during his illustrious NBA career. This revelation emerged as the Lakers faced the Knicks, adding a layer of intrigue to the matchup.

Speaking to reporters, LeBron acknowledged, “I’ve had that thought in my career,” when questioned about the possibility of donning the blue and orange uniform of the Knicks. The speculation gained momentum as LeBron, with a player option for the 2024-25 season, hinted at potential movement amid the Lakers’ current struggles with a 26-25 record, placing them in ninth place in the competitive Western Conference.

LeBron’s social media activity also fueled rumors, particularly a cryptic tweet featuring the Statue of Liberty emoji, leaving fans and analysts to speculate about his future plans.

Meanwhile, the Knicks, thriving with a 32-18 record, find themselves in a strong position in the Eastern Conference. LeBron’s acknowledgment of contemplating a move to the Knicks highlights the allure of playing in New York, often considered the Mecca of basketball.

Despite the ongoing speculation, LeBron James, who led the Lakers to victory against the Knicks with a 24-point performance, remains a formidable force. The Lakers’ struggles this season, combined with LeBron’s occasional hints and the ever-vocal NBA Twitter community, have turned the Lakers-Knicks matchup into a platform for trade rumors and potential future scenarios.

LeBron James also further stoked the flames of speculation by entering Madison Square Garden wearing orange and blue sneakers, the iconic colors of the Knicks. While his agent denied immediate trade talks, LeBron’s actions and statements have left the door open for future decisions, creating an ongoing narrative around his potential move to the Big Apple.

The Knicks, however, stand strong with their current roster, led by stars like Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle, as they continue to build momentum in the Eastern Conference. The drama surrounding LeBron James and the Knicks adds an additional layer of excitement to the NBA landscape, creating anticipation and speculation about the future of one of basketball’s greatest players.
