Kyrie Irving made a big impact on JR Smith, whom he played with from 2015 through 2017, winning one NBA championship in 2016 in the incredible 3-1 return against the Golden State Warriors.

Smith saw so much of Kyrie during their time together, and even after that, to call the controversial guard the best pure scorer in NBA history.

“There’s nothing as far as offensively, there’s nothing he can’t do with either hand,” Smith said. “He can shoot left-handed. He can shoot right-handed. He can shoot midrange. He can shoot threes, spot-ups, off the dribble. He got the best handles we’ve ever seen. He the best finisher under the basket we’ve ever seen by far. It’s not even close.

“The spin on his left hand, right hand, free-throw shooting. He a 50/40/90 dude every year. Only reason why he not ’cause of the shots he take is tough shots. There’s nobody creatively on the basketball floor that can get any shot that they want better than him.”

When it comes to the best pure scorers in NBA history, Kyrie Irving is hardly ever mentioned among them. Players like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and others are constantly included in these conversations, but Kyrie’s name seems to be overlooked, according to Smith’s words.

Instead of adding the 2016 NBA champion to the list, JR went all the way and named him the best in this category. Kyrie has been known as the best handles in NBA history, but his scoring prowess is often ignored by most fans.

Well, his former teammate is there to defend him and give him his flowers not only for the way he can dribble the ball but also for his scoring skills.

George Karl Calls Out JR Smith Over Comments On Denver Nuggets’ Practices

Smith has been very active in recent days, and some of his comments have earned him big backlash. He recently talked about his run with the Denver Nuggets in 2009, saying that the team didn’t have any inbound play.

Then head coach George Karl had a big response for JR, saying he was probably stoned when the team practiced the plays. Mr. Karl isn’t somebody you mess with and get away with that, and Smith knew that.

The former shooting guard is living a great moment, going to college, and playing golf, but from time to time, he gets involved in controversy
