Karl-Anthony Towns dropped the first 60-point game of the season against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night. KAT was on fire, he also managed to get 17 rebounds while doing it, absolute monster numbers. He became the first center since Shaquille O’Neal to reach the 60-point mark but the only thing on his mind after that performance was paying tribute to the person who helped him reach where he is.
Karl was very close to his mother, Jacqueline, who tragically passed away because of Covid-19 in 2020. Monday marked 2 years since the day KAT’s mother was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for the virus. She, unfortunately, couldn’t pull through and after his historic performance on the day, Towns took to Twitter to dedicate it to her.

Towns has spoken about the loss in the past, he suffered quite a few losses during the pandemic but has managed to come out of the other side stronger. KAT is building his case for being the best shooting big man and is well on his way to carrying the Minnesota Timberwolves into the playoffs. Everything he accomplishes this season and beyond will be a testament to how his mother has raised him.
