Enes Kanter Freedom was waived by the Houston Rockets at the trade deadline after being packaged in a deal that saw the Boston Celtics acquire Daniel Theis. He has since been a free agent but no teams have snapped him up. It’s not like he has no other avenues to work though, Freedom has a long-established interest in professional wrestling and has already made an appearance in WWE.

In 2019, when he was still a part of the Boston Celtics, Freedom made an appearance on a WWE Monday Night Raw event, even claiming a title by defeating then 24/7 Champion R-Truth. It was an iconic moment too, as he did it in front of a New York City crowd and revealed a Boston Celtics jersey in the process.

Well, it would seem that the opportunity to wrestle isn’t gone yet, Enes Freedom revealed on the platform Let’s Hang. He said he has the opportunity to wrestle if he wants but he still wants to find his way back into the NBA and play basketball for a few more years (via fightful.com).

“I already have an offer, I’m just trying to figure out what is going to happen with this basketball thing. I’m 29, and I want to play another six or seven years in this league. I’m going to figure out my basketball career first and see what’s going to happen. I already have an offer, I’m just not taking it right now. I love basketball and I’m not going to quit basketball,” he said.

Over a decade in the NBA, Freedom has managed to average 11.2 points per game to go along with 7.8 rebounds. At the age of just 29, he is also far from being washed, so the opportunity may still present itself to him at some point. It’s not that straightforward considering the reports that no team will look to pick him up, but whether it’s wrestling or basketball, the one thing that cannot be denied is that Enes Freedom is entertaining to watch!
