The Los Angeles Lakers are LA’s primary team, and as such, there is glamor attached to being a fan. This means a lot of celebrities are fans of the Lakers, Hollywood being right in town, and one of those celebrities is the singer, songwriter Halsey. Halsey is an avid follower of the NBA and the Lakers, having previously tweeted about her disappointment in Lakers players like Andre Drummond

Well, things are worse than ever in Laker town this season and a spot in the play-in tournament seems like the best outcome for the team. Lakers fans aren’t used to much disappointment and are just 2 years removed from a championship, so this is quite the jarring and depressing time for them. Halsey is no different, and she made her feelings clear on Twitter after the latest loss against the Toronto Raptors.

“This account is for being funny and right now everything is sad.”

Her account halseyandone on Twitter is dedicated to talking about basketball and that primarily involves the Lakers, so it’s easy to understand why she would say this. The Lakers are 2-8 throughout their last 10 games and the continued absence of Anthony Davis has ensured that not a lot has changed from earlier in the season.

Losing repeatedly after being considered a contender is the worst thing that can happen to a franchise in terms of morale, and the Lakers seemingly have no idea of how to deal with it. After the defeat to the Raptors, Russell Westbrook spoke about he has no answer for how the team can improve on recent dismal performances.

Counting on LeBron James to bail them out with ridiculous 50-point performances is not a sustainable solution at all and if the Lakers cannot figure out a way to inject some energy and momentum into the team, then missing the playoffs becomes a very likely possibility. Sadly for Halsey and other fans like her, things aren’t looking like they will get better any time soon.
