Kawhi Leonard On Clippers’ Potential: ‘I Don’t Know’

2 Min Read

Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers are one of the NBA’s biggest stories this season. After building a deep and talented roster, they were considered the favorites coming into the season.

But what exactly is their potential? Not even Kawhi knows, apparently.

“I don’t know,” Leonard said when asked how close the team is to reaching its potential. “Because I don’t know what our potential is. You never know how good a team can be. But we’re going to strive to be the best team we can. We’re not complacent. We want to keep getting better and hopefully reach the goal.”

The Clippers are doing pretty well this season. Currently, in the midst of a 5 game win streak, they are boasting a 42-19 record in the West. But their run hasn’t come without controversy.

Multiple incidents have indicated trouble in the locker room and they’ve suffered more than a few questionable losses this season. It’s been a rather up-and-down tenure.

It’ll be interesting to see what they are capable of come playoff time, but clearly Kawhi doesn’t think they’ve reached their potential yet. To prove him right they will, first and foremost, need healthy bodies. That has been a major struggle for them all year long.
