Kawhi Leonard is finally back after missing the entire 2021-22 NBA season with a serious injury. The Klaw is joining his teammates to try to compete for the 2023 NBA championship, a huge desire for these Clippers since they landed both Leonard and Paul George in the summer of 2019.
Clippers Nation surely hopes to see these two leading them to the promised land, especially now that they acquired John Wall. The Clippers look good on paper, but once the season is underway, we’ll know their ceiling. Meanwhile, Kawhi is having fun, messing around with teammates and sending messages to the fans.
Moreover, he keeps showing how loyal he is and how little he cares about brands that aren’t sponsoring him. In a recent clip of Leonard addressing Clippers fans, he was spotted not wearing the Nike logo on his jersey.
Kawhi Leonard Removed Nike Logo Off The Clippers Jersey
Kawhi Leonard is a New Balance athlete, which explains why he doesn’t want anything to do with Nike. The Klaw used to be a Nike athlete, and after some issues that led to a legal battle, he’s been sponsored by a new company. Leonard appears to be very happy with his current situation, so much so that he doesn’t want anything to do with Nike, at least not during media day.

This is a similar situation to what happened with Leonard during a press conference, when he took away a bottle of Gatorade, saying he wasn’t sponsored by that company. Kawhi is very serious about his money, and he doesn’t hesitate to show respect and loyalty to those who back him.
A similar case happened with LeBron in the Drew League. The King covered up the Adidas logo in his uni, as he represents and is sponsored by Nike. Basketball players know this is a business before anything else, and they’re not about playing with their bag.
