There are many aspects to becoming a fan-favorite in the NBA. But the quickest way to do so is to be a fantastic scorer and mesmerize the fans with their skills. The Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant is definitely a fan-favorite, and he is without a doubt one of the best scorers the league has ever seen.

He proved his talent in the scoring department again in the Nets’ recent game against the New York Knicks. The Slim Reaper exploded for 53 points as he helped the Nets win the fixture against the Nets.

Durant also grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 9 assists in the game, but his 53 points grabbed the attention of most. After all, the 2x NBA champion was just 1-point shy of leveling his career-high of 54 points.

Regardless, it was amazing to see Durant get in the rhythm and destroy the opposing team’s defense. Upon seeing this sensational night from Durant, NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins had nothing but praise for him. Perkins tweeted:

“KD literally could lead the League in Scoring ever single year if he wanted!!! That 27 piece in the first half came so effortless. I’m going to continue to STAND on that he’s the Greatest Scorer that this game has ever seen! Carry the hell on…”

After scoring 53 points, Durant has been collecting praise from all around the league. His teammate Andre Drummond even labeled him as the best player in the world right now. And now Perkins has hailed him as the greatest scorer of all time.

KD certainly has a case for owning that title. But many NBA fans still consider Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan to be the greatest scorers of all time. With that being said, KD still has a chance to surpass the two greats in this category before he retires from the league.
