Kendrick Perkins Believes Kevin Durant Is Angry With The Brooklyn Nets, Not Kyrie Irving: “If I’m KD And The Brooklyn Nets Don’t Get This Deal Done With Kyrie Irving… I Want Out Fast. I’m Getting The Hell Up Out Of Brooklyn.”

The Brooklyn Nets are going through a bit of an uncertain stretch now, not even 2 years after they assembled a superteam that was supposed to bring them a championship. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were joined by James Harden but they haven’t even been able to make a deep playoff run, with injuries, Irving’s antics off the court, and Harden leaving all affecting their ability to win consistently.

And now they are seemingly at an impasse with Kyrie Irving, who has just 1 year left on his contract and is looking for his next big deal. Irving is seemingly trying to leverage a big contract for himself, which is tough because of his availability issues since he joined the franchise. And while the situation doesn’t include Kevin Durant, if Kyrie is to leave, that would be less than ideal for his hopes of winning another championship.

And Kendrick Perkins has a radical idea about what KD should do, suggesting that if the Nets cannot figure out a way to bring Kyrie back, then Durant himself should look to leave and pursue other teams as options.

"A brother that's probably not happy right now is Kevin Durant. It's not that he's pissed off with Kyrie Irving, he's pissed off with the Brooklyn Nets… If I'm Kevin Durant, I want out fast"

“And its not that he is pissed off with Kyrie Irving; he’s pissed off with the Brooklyn Nets. … If I’m KD, and the Brooklyn Nets don’t get this deal done with Kyrie Irving, and Kyrie Irving leaves the Brooklyn Nets to sign with somebody else like the Lakers and LeBron James. If I’m Kevin Durant, I want out, and I want out fast. I’m getting the h*ll up out of Brooklyn.”

Durant is the main star of the Nets, and he chose to sign there alongside Irving, so it is likely important to him that Brooklyn can reach a deal with Kyrie and allow them to give winning a real chance. If they can do that while integrating Ben Simmons in the line-up, then KD will have another legitimate chance at getting a ring, otherwise, he may just have to consider leaving.
