  • Kendrick Perkins is back in the news again for all the wrong reasons
  • At a Kids AAU game, Perkins got ejected after he started arguing with the refs
  • Perkins later went on ESPN to explain why he was angry with the officials

Over the years, Kendrick Perkins has been in the news for his hot takes and crazy predictions. He is most famously known for this Warriors take that they would never win another title. And Stephen Curry and crew proved him wrong and destroyed him.

Even in the offseason, Perkins cannot seem to stay out of trouble; this time, it was at an AAU Game. The former Celtics star was in Las Vegas coaching an AAU Team.

When one of his players got ejected from the game, Perkins was pissed and confronted the referees, but the officials were in no mood to give him an explanation.

Perkins was not willing to let go of this, and he questioned the officials’ decision.

The refs had enough, gave Perkins two quick technicals, and tossed him from the game. But the former NBA Champ was not ready to leave, and he stormed the court.

As the video went viral, Perkins was on ESPN later that night and he explained the incident:

“Look, I’ve been coaching for three years, and I haven’t got ejected one time. So I’m trying to ask the ref a question on why did he eject one of my players. And he would not talk to me. So when he didn’t give me an answer, I blew off the gas.”

Perkins refused to leave the court despite getting ejected, and he continued to go at the referees.

Kendrick Perkins Had To Be Calmed Down By The Director

After Perkins refused to leave the court, the director of the tournament had to come down himself to calm Perkins down. He had spent thousands of dollars to come to Vegas to attend the tournament. So he wasn’t going to leave without an explanation.

Kendrick Perkins added:

“I’m not leaving the gym. And then the tournament director was like, ‘Perk, you’re going to have to stand on the sideline. But you can’t finish the game.’ So there it was. We went on to lose the game, but I didn’t care.”

Trae Young, who was in attendance went on to tweet about Perkins’ ejection. Young also hinted that he had to leave Vegas because of a similar reason.

Perkins also said that Trae Young’s dad also wanted the referee to be gone. He also didn’t appreciate the referee having an attitude. And when he didn’t get an explanation, Perkins went off. Despite this, Perkins is set to stay in Vegas and he will attend further games.
