Kendrick Perkins Quickly Changes His Mind: ‘If Giannis Wins This Championship, He Will Dethrone LeBron James And Kevin Durant’

2 Min Read

Kendrick Perkins has changed his mind on Giannis Antetokounmpo more than I can remember, especially this playoff. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar is playing at a high level, breaking records and confirming he’s one of the top dogs in the league.

Moreover, Perkins believes Giannis has a good case to become the best player in the world this season, as long as he wins the NBA championship and takes home the Finals MVP award.

In a recent edition of ‘First Take,’ the former center made another bold claim on Antetokounmpo this season, putting him above big names like LeBron James and Kevin Durant if he wins his first ring this campaign.

“If Giannis takes it to another level and wins this championship, and wins Finals MVP, then I think we ought to give him the credit as being the best player in the game of basketball. Dethrone LeBron James, Kevin Durant and whoever else.”

Giannis has been great the past couple of years, becoming one of the 10 best players in the NBA, but this is probably too much. Things get more interesting knowing that Perkins called Giannis a ‘Robin’ a couple of weeks ago, putting Khris Middleton as the Bucks’ Batman

NBA fans reacted to this, calling Perk out for making such a hot take on Giannis after he called him a sidekick.

KP is always making these questionable statements, and he doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. No matter how hard fans troll him, the former center is ready to say anything, even if that contradicts his past comments.

Meanwhile, Giannis is doing everything he can to lead the Bucks to the championship. They are tied with the Phoenix Suns 2-2 now, hoping to get the lead of the series in Game 5 next Saturday.
