Kendrick Perkins is once again under the storm after he made a bold claim regarding the most skilled player in NBA history. The 2008 NBA champion has been very active on social media, giving his takes about anything, driving fans crazy for his questionable opinions. His admiration for LeBron James is something we all know but not only his hot takes about Bron earns his criticism.
For instance, Perk recently claimed Kobe Bryant had the best skill-set in NBA history.
Kobe Bryant and don’t ask this ever again. https://t.co/qdtT0wDoC0

Some fans agreed on that and made the case for Kobe, too, mentioning his footwork and his ability to make baskets.
I was telling someone this the other day! If you think Kobe wasn’t the more skillful player then MJ you’re #blind and #bias

Dribbling: kobe
Contested shot making: Kobe
Footwork: Kobe
It’s his will that had him practice all of that shit to surpass the limits his athleticism set out for him..stop Kobe is far more skilled than bird let alone a different time of ball…

Fact anyone is disagreeing is absolutely mind boggling. Kobe is hands down the most skilled player of all time . Absolutely zero weaknesses in his game .

Kobe’s more skilled imo and he learned his post moves from Hakeem as well. Saying that he copied Jordan is an ignorant take considering he’s a student of the game. Read his book and you’ll see what I’m talking about. He took many things from player that player before him.

However, other fans disagreed with Perk and mentioned who they actually believe is the most skilled player in NBA history.
Kobe literally said everything you got from him was from Jordan. So how are you going to pick Kobe? And Kobe’s my favorite player of all-time

This is debateable. Kobe has great case for most technically sound player, but Bird had less athleticism and is better all time.

Hakeem, Bird ,Lebron. they all had various range and moves that transcend the game. Hakeem and his foot work. Bird and his vision ,range and size for a white guy at that time. Lebron with his speed ,power ,versatility and range at his size. just to name some guys. great topic

Kobe is my guy. I would say he top 5 in skill set. However, Kareem has the best skills set. They had to ban dunking in college because no one could stop him. Then he develops the hardest move to defend. They still couldn't contain him. Plus he has alot of assist.

Ima say bird, kyrie, curry nash in no order if we talking about skill set. Especially without being that athletic.

Hakeem, bird, Jordan skill set > Kobe. Kobe era just ended up using the three ball more. If Jordan or hakeem came out now with a better shot because of the era they are automatic monster. Bird would literally just need to stay in enough shape for this era.

These questions will always create debates and controversies but that’s the NBA, not everybody will have the same opinion as you and that’s what makes it fun. Kobe has a pretty good case to be considered the most skilled player of all time but it’s the same with other players.
At the end of the day, it’s more a personal pick than anything. For Perk, who actually faced Kobe on the court, there isn’t a more skilled player than Kobe Bean Bryant and that’s it.
