Kevin Durant is set to start another season with the Brooklyn Nets, his third being an active player for the Brooklynites. After a disappointing exit last season, KD decided it was time to look for a new challenge in the league. He requested a trade out of Brooklyn, which turn the league upside down.
After being offered to several teams, and seeing the Nets’ high asking price for him, the player and the team decided to move forward and leave this in the past. Durant is still a Net and is set to compete with this new-look team next season.
Everybody on the roster is ready to run it back, and KD is ready for whatever challenge this season brings. The Big 3 is already making moves and going out together, trying to build some chemistry ahead of the start of the season.
Kevin Durant Explains Why He Withdrew His Trade Request
Many people want to know why he backpedaled and decided to stay with the Nets, with the 2x NBA champion explaining that he felt the Nets still had something good in their hands and he thought about honoring his contract before trying his luck somewhere else.
KD on why he decided to come back after asking for a trade: "I felt like we had a good team. I felt like this is the place I said I wanted to be. We started to set something up in the future to be a solid team. So to be honest I thought this was still a great option, too."

“I felt like we had a good team. I felt like this is the place I said I wanted to be. We started to set something up in the future to be a solid team. So to be honest I thought this was still a great option, too.”
Durant gave an explanation for that whole situation, revealing that the Nets’ moves during the offseason played a role in his decision. This team made some smart decisions to put themselves in a privileged position ahead of the 2022-23 season. Now, they have a lot to prove, and KD will carry big pressure on his shoulders.
He wants to hoop and compete and win, and if he can do that, he’ll shut everybody’s mouths after an offseason full of rumors and criticism.
