Where does Kevin Durant rank on your All-Time list? For some, the 2x Champion is easy right up there with the best. For others, he’s overrated and has yet to prove he can win a title without Steph Curry’s help.
According to the Nets star himself, he’s among the 10 best players ever.
Here he is making his case:

“I put it like this,” he says. “If let’s say Michael Jordan and LeBron James had to pick and we were playing a five-on-five game, they’re picking me. I’m going to be a part of that 10 that’s playing in that game. That’s how I feel.”
It might sound like a hot take at first, but KD isn’t the only one who believes it. Expert NBA analyst Bill Simmons echoed something similar on his podcast:
“He’s won titles, he’s won MVP. I think KD is one of the 10 best All-Time by any calculation. But you need some luck with this stuff too… With Durant it’s just over and over again. The only luck he had was that the Warriors had cap space in 2016, and he was able to join that team. But that turned out to be a curse for him too… The smartest move for him was what everyone got mad about. I just wonder when he’s going to get a break.”
Durant’s career isn’t over, so he still has time to solidify his case as a Top 10 player ever. Who knows, by the time it’s all said and done, he could move up to the Top 5.
For now, all we have to go on is 12 All-Star appearances, 4 Scoring titles, 9 All-NBA selections, 2 Championships, and an MVP. That alone is more than the average basketball player can dream of.
Depending on what he does in Brooklyn, he could move even higher up the list.
