Kevin Durant is one of the greatest scorers ever; this is not a fact that can be debated. Durant can fill it up from all three levels and shoot over any defender in the league. He is as unstoppable a weapon as any in the modern NBA. And he has been doing it for so long, too, that he’s close to some historic achievements.

When he turned up for All-Star weekend, Kevin Durant was likely expecting a lot of questions. He has already spoken on some hot topics surrounding him since joining the Phoenix Suns after a trade, but he also had a lot more things to talk about. Why it didn’t work out in Brooklyn, what he thinks of Kyrie Irving and his new opportunities, and things like that. But the one answer that may go underrated was his humble reaction to being asked about entering the Top 10 on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

“It means a lot. I mean, I always want to be respected by the greats of the game for my game and my abilities. You know, that says it all right there. You know, I get love from the greats whenever I see them. Especially this weekend, a lot of former NBA players and current NBA players. It’s a lot of love and respect, and it shows so, that means the world to me that I can be close to the Top 10.”

Kevin Durant was robbed of a significant portion of his career by injuries, but he has still been good enough to currently be 14th on the all-time scoring list. And there is a lot of opportunity to move further upwards; the Top 10 is given at this point.

How High On The All-Time Scoring List Can Kevin Durant End His Career?

Kevin Durant is currently 14th on the list with 26,484 points. That is less than 1,000 points behind No. 10 on the list, which is Moses Malone. It’s safe to say that Kevin Durant will easily meet that mark, possibly even this season, depending on when he comes back and at what level.

Wilt Chamberlain in 7th place is at 31,419 points, which means that Kevin Durant will likely have to play another 3 seasons without injury to cross that, which is easily possible. Considering what an amazing scorer he has been, reaching Michael Jordan in the No. 5 spot will be the goal. LeBron James will likely put the record too high for even KD to reach, though.
