Kevin Durant returned to the Bay area, facing his former team, the Golden State Warriors, a completely different squad than they had when KD, Klay Thompson, and Stephen Curry were leading them to the NBA Finals for the third straight year. The Nets earned a big win over the Warriors, 134-117.

Durant was received with a video tribute remembering his time with the Dubs, where he won two championships creating one of the most dangerous teams in NBA history. He finished the game with 20 points and the victory but had some interesting things to say about his time with the Dubs, revealing how much it meant for him playing for a great team like those Warriors.

“Tribute video was cool,” Durant said, via NBC Sports. “I think about those moments daily. Every single moment that I had in this league, I think about it and try to analyze it and get better from it. My time here at Golden State was so much fun. It was such a big learning experience, especially learning the game of basketball different. A different philosophy. I’m going to take that with me for the rest of my life. Tribute video was cool, but I’m always playing those moments in my head.”

Even though his exit from the Warriors was surrounded by controversy, Durant has always expressed his love and respect for the team. He was spotted hugging Draymond Green, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson after the game, making it clear there is no doubt between the former teammates.

Moreover, he revealed that he talks with Klay once a week, trying to help him get back in the best way after he suffered an ACL injury.

Kevin Durant said he and Klay Thompson talk "a couple times a week", as Thompson continues to rehab from his Achilles injury. "Obviously, I know what that process is like," Durant said, adding that he knows Thompson is itching to get back out on the floor to shoot.

He’s now part of another Big 3 with James Harden and Kyrie Irving, trying to give the Nets their first-ever championship. Durant is playing as if nothing happened to him and that should be a reason to worry for the rest of the league. He made a lot of damage in Golden State and there is a big chance he does the same in Brooklyn.
