Luka Doncic is in everybody’s mouth right now. The Slovenian point guard is one of the biggest stories of the season and before getting injured, he was a huge threat for the Los Angeles Clippers in their first-round series. Luka has done marvelous things in recent days so there is no doubt this kid is going to make a lot of noise in the league for several years to come.
Everybody is in awe with him, including one of the best scorers this league has ever seen, Kevin Durant. KD joined the latest episode of Rich Kleiman’s podcast, The Boardroom, to discuss a variety of topics with his agent. They went from the entrepreneur’s life, the Black Lives Matter movement and the emerge of Luka Doncic, arguably the best young player in the league right now.
Just like the rest of the world, Durant had nothing but good words to say about Doncic, praising him for his game, how mature and polished he is given his age, claiming he has a bright future ahead (1:05:00 mark).
“I think he’s built to be a star for sure. I think he understands who he is, how he wants to play, and what the future holds for him. Now what that looks like on the marketing side, I think Steve (Stoute) can answer that a little bit better, but as a talent in the NBA? He transcends a lot of things because at that age, to be that smart and to be that polished it’s just rare.”
They talked about Doncic as a brand and the marketing behind him, but in the end, KD described Doncic as what he is for the rest of the teams, ‘a problem’.

Doncic is only 21 and he already belongs to the elite of the league. The sky’s the limit for this young man and the Dallas Mavericks couldn’t be happier to have him. Maybe not this year, but this dude is going to collect plenty of trophies, individual and collective.
